Over time, the care needs of our loved ones may change. New issues may arise that are beyond our existing skills and techniques.

Because home is where they spend most of their time, a skills review and training conducted in their home environment is the most practical approach to ensuring that care needs are still met.

Targeted training & education includes:

  • Caregiver consciousness and resilience counselling

  • Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) training (Dressing, Showering, Toileting, Personal Hygiene, Feeding)

  • Ambulation training with/without assistive devices

  • Wheelchair training and safety management

  • Safe transferring of patient with/without assistive devices (including car transfer)

  • Handling dementia and its progression

  • Other caregiving challenges

Assessment of the Home Environment

It may surprise you to know that a high percentage of falls actually happen at home.

Beyond installing grab bars and ramps, there is a lot more that can be done to make our homes a safer place for our loved ones. Safety strategies should be taught to family members sharing the living space so that everyone can help to maintain a safe home environment.

Targeted home assessment includes:

  • Home safety assessment with tailored recommendations

  • Falls prevention strategies

  • ADLs optimisation

  • Consultation and working with customers' choice ID/contractor for home renovation
